This will involve discussion with the you regarding your personal details, medical history and what you are hoping to achieve from physiotherapy and treatment. Following this, a physical assessment will be carried out concentrating on how the problems identified in discussion present in daily life.
A set of goals to be achieved will then be set between yourself and your physiotherapist, so that both parties understand further ongoing treatment. There may be some general advice and some specific exercises discussed with you following your assessment.
Further treatment
Treatment will often consist of functional activities and exercises that help to improve your mobility and movement, highlighted from your assessment. Further treatment sessions will work on your goals together and they will be reviewed at specified times to ensure that we are all progressing in the same direction.
Assistance can also be given on the provision of some aids to enable you to remain safe at home.
