What is physiotherapy?
Physiotherapy is concerned with how bodies move normally and how individuals function on a daily basis. Physiotherapists use their knowledge of anatomy, physiology, biomechanics and other functions to assess patients with physical problems to provide advice, exercise and treatment options. This involves looking at all aspects of daily life, from personal care, to work and getting outside the home.
What is a neuro-physiotherapist?
Neurological physiotherapists specialise in the assessment and treatment of patients who have acquired a brain injury, stroke or other disease affecting the nervous system. The brain and nervous system can show great potential for improvement, even some time following the initial injury or event and physiotherapy aims to maintain and improve any movement and function that can be achieved.
